Baricitinib (olumiant) is a selective JAK2 and JAK1 inhibitor, which is less effective against JanusKinase and jak3orTYK2. The kinase and its related signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) are the main intracellular pathways that control the amplitude and duration of cytokine and type I and type II cytokine receptor signaling. These receptors lack the intrinsic enzymatic activity signal transduction that can be mediated; Janus kinase\signal transduction and transcription activator are phosphorylated by JAK enzyme, leading to STAT activation.
